Mill Creek Goes Paws-itively to the Dogs for Take Your Dog to Work Day

The dog days of summer are here and the City of Mill Creek is encouraging the entire community to celebrate furry friends by participating in Take Your Dog to Work Day on Friday, June 23.

City employees will be joining the fun and are encouraged to bring their well-behaved canines to work.

“This event a fun employee engagement opportunity for our staff,” said Gina Pfister, who coordinates events as part of the City’s Recognition Committee. “It also provides us with an opportunity to give back to the pet community and find a unique way to celebrate dogs and promote dog adoption.”

In addition to employees bringing their dogs to work, The City also is partnering with Paddywack pet supply to promote animal adoption. The Seattle Humane Society will bring a mobile adoption center and adoptable animals to Paddywack, located at 15407 Main St. Suite #101 in Mill Creek Town Center, on June 23 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Paddywack also will host a meet-and- greet with Greyhound Pets on Saturday, June 24 from 1 to 3 p.m.

The pooch fun continues on Saturday, June 24, with the Mutt March. The march is a three-mile dog run and walk starting at Decibel Brewery located at 18204 Bothell-Everett Hwy SE, Suite B in Bothell. Dogs and their walkers can start the walk between 2 and 4 p.m. to make their way to Mill Creek along the North Creek Park Boardwalk before ending at Mud Bay pet supply, located at 1018 164th St. SE in Mill Creek. Along the way, participants can join the paid poker run, where they collect cards to accumulate a poker hand; the best poker hand wins fabulous prizes. Proceeds are donated to 6Dogrees Dog Rescue.

Take Your Dog to Work Day was started in 1999 by Pet Sitters International to celebrate dogs and promote pet adoption. Visit to learn more.
