Benefit options for non-represented staff are summarized below. (Represented
employees should consult their labor agreements for information on
benefits.)
- Municipal Employees Benefit Trust (MEBT) in lieu of Social Security
participation
- Medical, dental, vision, life, survivor, long-term disability, and
AD&D insurance plans
- Section 125 plan
- Vacation (12 days per year to start, with increases based on years of
service)
- Sick leave (accrued at the rate of eight hours per month)
- Ten (10) paid holidays and one (1) floating holiday per year
- Bereavement leave
- State of Washington Department of Retirement System (PERS or LEOFF)
- Two optional 457 deferred compensation plans
