ASPHALT REPAIR SITES

Mill Creek will be undertaking a Citywide Asphalt Repair project this summer to fill potholes, seal cracks and repair areas of failed pavement.   As the City’s infrastructure ages and reaches the end of its life span, the condition will start to deteriorate at an exponential rate if proactive maintenance is not performed.  While the repair patches and crack sealing may be unsightly to some, it is the most cost effective way to prolong the life expectancy of the roadway.

This will be a relatively large scale project of $400,000 to catch up on several years of deferred maintenance.  The contractor is Northwest Asphalt, Inc. of Renton, and work will be done over the summer months.  If you know of an area of tree root damage, potholes or cracks in your roadway, please feel free to report them to the project manager, Scott Smith, at 425-921-5708 or scott@cityofmillcreek.com.

Future resurfacing or paving of the City’s roadway network will be done as part of the revised Pavement Preservation Program, which is being proposed in the updated Capital Facilities Plan.  The initial phase of the program is to try some more appropriate, cost effective methods to resurface a few of the older roadways in the City.  More information will be provided when a final plan of action is determined.
