April 1st, 2010  National Census Day
Use this day as a point of reference for sending your completed forms back in the mail.
March 2010  Census Forms are mailed or delivered to households.
                                        2010 National Census

Soon every household will receive a short Census questionnaire that is simple and fast to complete and return.

The survey will ask the number of people in each household, phone number, name of each person, relationship, gender, age/date of birth, race/ethnicity and tenure (rent or own?).  Each household will be asked to return the survey by mail.  All of the answers are protected and your identity is safe.

Every year more than $400 billion in federal funds are awarded to states and communities based on census data.  That's more than $4 trillion over a 10-year period.  Completing the census helps to provide each state's delegation of seats for the U.S. House of Representatives, community planning such as roads, hospitals and schools, jobs, language services and health services.

The census wants to ensure that everyone is counted!
