The Team meets monthly to share concerns and ideas, discuss
progress on current projects and plan future projects. Activities in the past year included
fact-finding tours to Waste Management’s recycling plant and Cedar Grove Compost’s
production facility, conducting an employee survey to analyze conservation habits and
determine areas of interest, planning and hosting an employee appreciation lunch using
recyclable/compostable products courtesy of Waste Management, and exploring the possibility
of a Mill Creek community garden/pea patch.
"To evaluate the City’s current and future
practices to identify ways to reduce costs, increase efficiency and reduce our impacts on
the environment, resulting in improved quality of life for staff and citizens."
