Honoring veterans doesn’t start and end on Veterans Day. Mill Creek residents and community members who are veterans or have veterans in their family can apply to have names engraved on the City’s Veterans Monument located in Library Park at 15429 Bothell Everett Hwy.

There currently are about 345 names of U.S. men and women who served in the U.S. Armed Forces engraved in the six basalt columns with additional space available for more. The engraved columns serve to inspire future generations and can memorialize a veteran’s service to this country with their name, rank and service branch.

“Remembering and honoring those who have served in our Armed Forces is important to our Mill Creek community, and we’ve created this monument in lasting tribute to our veterans,” said Joni Kirk, communications and marketing director.

Those seeking to add a name to Veterans Monument can download the application at www.cityofmillcreek.com/veteransmonument. The cost is $83 per person. The application includes a field to identify service members who died or were killed while serving in the Armed Forces with an additional special engraving mark.
