Youth Advisory Board By-Laws

Mill Creek Youth Board Objectives

·         Create and encourage opportunities for Youth to give back to the community.

·         Create new programs for Youth to participate in during non-school hours.

·         Strengthen relationships between Youth and the community through special events and new programs.

·         The voice of Mill Creek Youth to the City Departments and Mill Creek Police.

Mill Creek Youth Board Mission

Strengthen relations between Youth and the community through creating new programs and encouraging opportunities for youth to give back to the community.

Meetings: Regular meetings of the board shall be conducted at least once a month. Meetings are held at Mill Creek City Hall Council Chambers unless otherwise notified.

Attendance: All Mill Creek Youth Board members are strongly encouraged to attend all board meetings. Each Board member is required to attend 80% of the meetings during each term.

Unexcused Absences: In the event any Board members has an unexcused absence from three or more meetings held during the year of service, the Leadership Committee, with the concurrence of the Teen Coordinator, may declare position vacant and a new member may be appointed.

Agendas: Agendas shall be prepared by the Teen Coordinator and the Leadership Committee and than sent to the Board members at least five days before regular meeting. Special meetings may be called without preparation of an agenda.

Annual Report: The Youth Board shall submit an annual report to City Council outlining its activities for the previous year.
