Mill Creek City Council Swears in Returning Councilmembers for a Two Year Term

City Council swore in newly elected councilmembers John Steckler and Stephanie Vignal at the Nov. 26 meeting. They will serve two year terms, as both councilmembers were previously appointed to the City Council after positions were vacated.  John Steckler was appointed after Councilmember Sean Kelly relocated to a different city in early 2018. Stephanie Vignal was appointed to fill Representative Jared Mead’s position in early 2019 after he was elected to serve as a Representative to the 44th Legislative District.

Steckler is a 22-year resident of Mill Creek, where he has resided in both Parkside and – most recently –Evergreen neighborhoods. He has been an active community participant, volunteering in the local schools and scout organizations. He is an advocate of the arts, a Rotarian and a charter member and board member of the newly formed Kiwanis Club of Mill Creek. He is semi-retired, providing freelance consulting work in strategic planning and marketing. He had a lengthy career in sales, marketing and operations across several industries including bio-technology, healthcare and insurance.

Vignal is a four-year resident of Mill Creek. Since moving to Mill Creek with her husband and young daughter, she has been civically engaged, including having served as a member of the Park and Recreation Board. She is passionate about helping the City develop economic prosperity while careful balancing it with long-term planning that underscores a livable community. She holds a degree in business administration from Gardner-Webb University. Prior to her position as a councilmember, Vignal worked as a property manager.
