An image promoting shopping locallySmall Business Saturday is Nov. 24, and is a national day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for the community. In recognition of this day, the City of Mill Creek encourages people to shop locally.

“Mill Creek has a unique collection of shops,” said Mayor Pam Pruitt. “On Nov. 24, as well as throughout the holiday season, take time to explore our local options first when seeking out gifts for loved ones or a treat for yourself.”

In addition to shopping, pampering, and artistic experiences, the City’s diverse selection of dining options makes it a great location to grab a bite to eat while out and about.

Studies over the years demonstrate that when people buy from an independent, locally owned business, rather than a nationally owned business, significantly more of that money is then used to make purchases from other local businesses and service providers. This, in turn, strengthens the economic base of the whole community.
